Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina, available at Whitstable Eyecare.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a new imaging test used in eye examinations to capture detailed images of the retina, which is the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.

This technology is like ultrasound, but instead of using sound waves, it employs light waves to create high-resolution images of the retina and the optic nerve.

This allows us to see the layers within the retina which helps identify various eye conditions including glaucoma and macular degeneration.
